What's with the whistle? are the people offside or something? - is it the 1960's again? Joking aside. It seems to me that there isn't much point in yelling at people whilst wearing a full face helmet - especially when they're inside a modern car with the sound deadening they have. Back in the day the plod used to use the BMW System 7 helmets where the entire front pivoted up so that the officer could speak to people unobstructed.

Man this was badly planned let alone carried out I mean generally you don't stop traffic that long you stop traffic for a minute or two then the motorcade pulls by you release traffic once motorcade is clear & then move to catch up & pass to the next intersection but this poor cop stops traffic & seems to be forced to wait for minutes at which point clearly people start ignoring him thinking nothings coming. The towards the end he starts a group of cars long waiting for permission to go only to have to stop them again suggesting the motorcade suddenly was approaching after all & the group of cars thus has to actually wait again. This didn't flow like it should have.

Incredible number of people in the comments here that don't know why politicians get security protection and think they should all be able to waltz around like everyone else. No understanding of financial markets, no understanding of how wars start, no understanding of civil unrest or the consequences the assassination of a sitting head of state can cause, no understanding of global politics, no understanding of threat matrixes, no understanding of the level of risk to these people. Just shocking ignorance and idiocy. Tip for all of you getting pissed about this. If you want to be able to fly around and go on holiday when you want, sit there and wait, because threats against heads of states can lead to ground stops so unless you wanna get your flight from London to Spain diverted to freezing cold Norway or something, sit tight. If you want financial markets to run smoothly so your economy works well, sit there and wait, because when heads of states get attacked the markets go into free fall as investors worry about the state of the world's politics. If you want to not get drafted into a war, sit there and wait, because when heads of state get murdered, it invariably leads to retaliation and unless you were distracted by a bumblebee in history class, I think we all know how that turns out. What so many of you don't get is that attacks on these people bring consequences far beyond just the death of a person. There have been many assassinations that have led security services and protection agencies to use the tactics they use today. The reason cars are bulletproof? John F Kennedy largely. The reason they separate the public from the head of state, Ronald Reagan attempt. Outriders, pilot cars, lead cars are there to assess the potential threat BEFOREHAND and negate it. They stop the traffic well in advance so they know no-one can be under any illusion that something is happening. Everyone in the front of the queue on that road knows they've been stopped by cops, everyone knows they're not supposed to be driving. The road is clear. A moving target is difficult to hit.Public roadways are chaotic and difficult to navigate. They can easily get bogged down in traffic. You might think you'd need a whole tank to stop a convoy, but if you hire a simple anonymous looking car and get into "car trouble" at the right time, you can stop a convoy. So, the roads are kept clear. That way, any car that gets in the way can be seen as a potential threat and dealt with and there's also space to manoeuvre should that become necessary. They often shut down multiple lanes of traffic so they know that there's NO cars moving in the sphere of travel and almost certainily to be able to keep potential secondary and tertiary routes open should they need them. It doesn't take that long. Yes, you might be late to the meeting, but I guarentee you'll find it a lot worse if the President of wherever was murdered, public transport stops due to fear of further attacks, the country grinds to a halt and then gears up for war and everything that entails however big or small. Moral of the story, heads of state are important, they impact the world, just shut up and sit tight for 10/15 minutes. I'm sure you'll survive.
